Objectives
In previous post (Phase E) we produced a high-level Implementation and Migration Plan to identify specific solutions to deliver the Target Architecture.
Now we come to Phase F. Here we must finalise a detailed Implementation and Migration Plan, together with the final Architecture Roadmap. How to move from Baseline to Target architecture? By finalising solution building blocks and work packages in co-operation with the project and portfolio managers.
Approach
In Phase F Roadmap and the Implementation and Migration Plan are integrated with the enterprise’s other change activity.
We need to align with with ITIL, COBIT, Prince2, if they are used in our organisation. Who and when will perform all planned actions? We need to identify resources for work packages and assign priority to them, based on business value.
Techniques
Business value assessment (value index, risk index).
A technique to assess business value is to draw up a matrix based on a value index dimension and a risk index dimension.
Blue – on target.
Pale orange – at risk.
Red – in trouble.
Risk Management
Risk classification -> Risk identification -> Initial risk assessment -> Risk mitigation/ Residual risk assessment -> Risk monitoring (Phase G)
